More Dirt on the Skirt
Real quick, ya’ll, here’s the full story about that legislative aide in Philly and her alleged timesheet cheating. This story aired Tuesday night. I guess people hate it when you follow them around with a camera and you’re able to call them on their isht.
Note that the reporter confirms what I suspected: They got a tip about this woman’s not coming to work on time.

In her defense, she could be working from home. I work from home sometimes. And sometimes I work from anywhere I can get innanet access. But trust, I’m still working. Hey, it’s possible!
A good point, Hostess. If that’s the case, then her boss needed to say so. I’m surprised that with all the connections you think this councilman would have, being the ex-mayor’s son and all, someone would have tipped HIM off to the fact that his aide was being watched. Then he could have nipped it in the proverbial bud by saying “Hey, she works from home some days.” But then again, how do they explain the two of them going to his home and him carrying a case of beer into the house during normal work hours? Even if they are just working, it’s simply not a good look.
And I’m envious of you. I wish I could work from home, but cannot.

Get a new job and maybe you can work from home. *whistling away*
In due time, your young ladyness, in due time. I’m trying to get people to see the greatness of Pro.

maaaan, i guess i better be grateful no one thinks i’m important enough to follow around. cuz, er..um…i’ve been late on numerous occasions (never hours late though unless i have an appt). BUT i work way past cut-off time almost every day.
so it all balances out
Dfly, just curious - are you a municipal employee? If so, always watch your back. You’re fair game, ‘cause you’re getting paid with taxpayer dollars. LOL!
In all seriousness, what you witnessed was a staple of local TV news: Follow public-sector employees around to see if they’re really working and catch them on camera, confront them about why they’re cheating the taxpayers, yadda yadda yadda. That the subject was a hoochily dressed woman added unspoken spice to the story. Would the story have been as compelling if girlfriend wore conservative business suits and wore her hair in a short ‘fro or bob? Maybe, maybe not.
The bigger picture here is the inherent (I would say self-imposed) limitations of local TV news. Because it relies so heavily on visuals, it’s not gonna tackle a story such as “How widespread is timesheet cheating among municipal employees?” And not just in big cities like Philly. I’ll bet there’s a lot more isht and shenanigans going on in the burbs, where TV rarely treads unless there’s a homicide. They won’t do such stories ‘cause they’re hard to tell with pictures. Print is better suited for such work. You think DC’s local TV news could have uncovered that D.C. tax office manager’s theft of $45 million? I sure don’t.

LOL, no i’m not a municipal worker. but let me make sure i get here 10 mins early maƱana, just in case. lateness is prob my worst flaw.
that DC tax office mgr theft was INSANE. i couldn’t believe it when i read it. and when i saw that woman, i’m thinking, THIS chick was pilfering stacks like THAT?? LOL. AND sharing it with her folks. i was DONE.
The fact was they slipped up and tried to cash a $410,000 check with a lawyer’s name on it. A clerk got suspicious and called the lawyer who never heard of the refund and told the clerk to call authorities. It was all downhill from there. If not for that, they could have kept the scam going for years.
