And What If He Is?
No doubt many of you viewed Colin Powell’s endorsement of Barack Obama on NBC’s Meet the Press. But here’s one person’s take on the most important point Gen. Powell put forth.
Believe it or not, the same thought crossed my mind. It’s a shame the Muslim faith, though I don’t personally subscribe to it, is today’s American political bogeyman. This shows America has an uncanny way of repeating itself. About 100 years ago, the bogeymen were politically defenseless African Americans.

Delurking to say..
Out of all that Colin Powell said that day, the comment on Muslims is what stood out the most for me. I’d been asking that question ever since I received an email about Obama with the word Muslim in caps as if to scare the hell outta me.
Agreed, Natasha. When Gen. Powell blew me away when he asked the question. And don’t stay a lurker forever, OK?

Powell said what others should have been saying all along. Christianity is not a legal requirement for political office in this country no matter how much we were founded on Christian principles. We were also founded in large part on the basis of religious freedom.
A, you’re right. Even though it cannot hurt to govern from a base of Christian priniciples.
