Speaking of dreams, the images my subconscious mind conjures up seem to be ultra-bizarre of late.
Can anyone explain this scenario: My cousin and his friend, who also is my friend, get into a fight. My cousin cuts my friend’s right arm off at the shoulder with a chainsaw. My father gets mad at me for allowing them to fight.
I tell my cousin and friend to get out of my life. Then my cousin and friend are bosom buddies again. The doctor has reattached my friend’s arm. I wake up.
Say what? Are there any dream translators out there?
On another topic, an absentee ballot I ordered from my county elections office in New Jersey didn’t arrive. It was supposed to have been mailed Oct. 10. My landlady, who checks the mail, says she never saw it.
I’m thinking, oh, crap! Did it get lost in the mail, or did some rogue letter carrier “misdeliver” it? As crucial as this election is, I wouldn’t put that isht past someone.
Because I requested an absentee ballot, I cannot go to my polling place. So I’ve ordered a replacement that I will have delivered to my office in Maryland. My plan is take the ballot home, cast my vote and deliver it to my county elections office first thing Monday.
Then I can breathe easier.
